    Description / Table of Contents: Summary We study the neutron transport phenomenon in an absorbing medium bounded by a surface S and take into account the burn-up of absorbing materials. We prove existence and uniqueness and study some properties of the solution of the non-linear functional equation which is the mathematical translation of the above-mentioned phenomena.
    Notes: Riassunto Si studia il fenomeno del trasporto di neutroni in un mezzo assorbente, limitato da una superficie generalmente regolare S, tenendo conto del fatto che, per ogni neutrone assorbito, un atomo assorbitore subisce una trasmutazione che ne fa variare le proprietà fisiche. Si prova l'esistenza e l'unicità e si studiano alcune proprıetà della soluzione dell'equazione funzionale non lineare, che traduce il fenomeno sopra descritto.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary A heat forced convection and conduction problem in a nuclear reactor cylindrical cell was studied. The power production, due to fission, was assumed to depend linearly or non-linearly from the fuel temperature. Existence and uniqueness of the solution of the above mentioned problem were proved and some properties of the solution were investigated.
    Notes: Riassunto Si studia un problema cilindrico di convezione forzata e di conduzione del calore nella cella elementare di un reattore nucleare, nell’ipotesi che l’energia termica, generata per unità di tempo e di volume dalle fissioni, dipenda linearmente oppure non linearmente dalla temperatura del combustibile nucleare. Si prova l’esistenza e l’unicità della soluzione del problema e si studiano le proprietà della soluzione.
