The first order approximation of the perturbation theory of Andersen, Weeks, and Chandler is used to estimate the pair distribution function of two-dimensional fluids interacting with inverse power law repulsive pair potentials. The wave number of the maximum in the liquid structure factor and the width of the maximum are followed as a function of density and power law index. Calculations are also reported for the expectation value of the inverse cube of the interparticle distance, a quantity entering in the theory of the depolarizing fields of adsorption dipoles.
