Conclusions 1. The possibility of surface alloying with tantalum and niobium was established for Ni−Cr alloy ZhS6K. 2. In the process of diffusion coating with tantalum or niobium the alloying elements are redistributed in alloy ZhS6K, with development of concentration peaks. 3. Successive saturation of alloy ZhS6K with tantalum, niobium, and aluminum produces a layer with a better thermal stability than that of multicomponent coatings applied from suspensions containing aluminum, silicon, and boron. The zone enriched in tantalum or niobium prevents migration of aluminum from the protective layer into the matrix, i.e., has locking properties.
