Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung 1) Die Vordergliedmaßen von Froschlarven sind regenerationsfähig.
Notes: Summary The results of the experiments may be summed up as follows: 1) The anterior limbs of frog larvae are capable of regenerating. 2) The regenerated limb is invariably smaller than the normal one. 3) Regeneration in the anterior limbs is in part, dependent on the development of the limbs at the time of amputation. The better formed the limb, when the injury occurs, the less complete the regeneration will be, and vice versa, the less completely formed the limb, the more complete will be the regeneration. 4) The regenerative power varies in the individual larvae irrespective of development and of external conditions. 5) Whatever regeneration takes place, occurs prior to the completion of the metamorphosis, after which the power of regeneration seems to be lost.
