Transition metal (iron, cobalt, and chromium) substituted Hexagonal MesoporousAluminophosphate (HMA), and AlPO4-5 were studied for the oxidative desulfurization (ODS)reaction of refractory sulfur compounds such as DBT (dibenzothiophene) and 4,6-DMDBT (4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene). Selective oxidation activity varies with the kind of transition metalemployed. The ODS activity of HMA substituted catalyst follows the order: CrHMA 〉〉 CoHMA ≥FeHMA. Comparison between HMA and AlPO-5, CrHMA catalyst shows better performance thanCr-AlPO4-5 catalyst when tert-butyl hydroperoxide is used as oxidizing agent
