Description / Table of Contents:
Synthesis of Di- and Trihalo-1,3-dimethylcyclobutanesDehydrobromination of 1,3-dibromo-1,3-dimethylcyclobutane (5) with potassium tert-butoxide afforded 1-methyl-3-methylene-1-cyclobutene (1). Addition of hydrogen bromide and hydrogen chloride to 1 produced 3-bromo-(2) and 3-chloro-1,3-dimethyl-1-cyclobutene (3), respectively. Further addition of hydrogen halides to 2 and 3 yielded the stereoisomeric 1,3-dibromo- (5), 1,3-dichloro- (7), and 1-bromo-3-chloro-1,3-dimethylcyclobutanes (6). Bromination of 2 and of 3 afforded the stereoisomereic 1,2,3-tribromo- (4) and 1,2-dibromo-3-chloro-1,3-dimethylcyclobutanes (8), respectively.
Notes:
Dehydrobromierung von 1,3-Dibrom-1,3-dimethylcyclobutan (5) mit Kalium-tert-butylat gab 1-Methyl-3-methylen-1-cyclobuten (1). Addition von Brom- bzw. von Chlorwasserstoff an 1 lieferte 3-Brom-(2) bzw. 3-Chlor-1,3-dimethyl-1-cyclobuten (3). 1,2-Dibrom-3-chlor-1,3-dimethyl-cyclobutane (8).
