    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Es wurden 4,4′-Dipyridylkomplexe des TypesLn(4-dipy)2(NCS)3·5H2O mitLn = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb, Lu und Y dargestellt. Die IR-Spektren und andere physikalische Eigenschaften werden diskutiert und die thermische Zersetzung von einigen Verbindungen (in der Reihe Gd ÷ Lu) untersucht.
    Notes: Abstract 4,4′-Dipyridyl complexes of rare-earth thiocyanates of the formulaLn(4-dipy)2(NCS)3·5H2O (Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Yb, Lu, Y, 4-dipy = 4,4′-dipyridyl) have been synthesized. The IR spectra of these compounds and other physical properties are discussed. The thermal decomposition of some compounds (in the order Gd ÷ Lu) has been investigated.

    Notes: The Mn atom in the title compound, [MnCl2(C10H8N2)2(H2O)2], occupies a centre of symmetry. The pyridine rings are planar and all bond distances are normal. Bond-valence calculations show that the Mn—O bond is weaker than both the Mn—N and Mn—Cl bonds. The molecules are held together in the crystal by hydrogen bonds.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die Bildung der Komplexe vonPAN in den SystemenLn(III)—PAN—Alkohol-Wasser (Ln(III)=Ho, Lu; Alkohol=Ethanol,n-Propanol,iso-Propanol) wurde mit einer spektrophotometrischen Methode untersucht. Die Gleichgewichtskonstanten der ReaktionenLn 3+ + HL⇌LnL 2+ + H+ (HL==PAN) und die Stabilitätskonstanten der KomplexeLnL 2+ wurden berechnet.
    Notes: Abstract The formation ofPAN complexes in the systemsLn(III)—PAN—alcohol-water (where:Ln(III)=Ho, Lu and alcohol=ethanol,n-propanol,iso-propanol) was investigated by a spectrophotometric method. Equilibrium constants for the reactionLn 3+ + HL⇌LnL 2+ + H+ (HL=PAN) and stability constants of complexesLnL 2+ were calculated.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die Extraktion von Er(III), Yb(III) und Lu(III) mittels 1-Phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-pyrazolon-5 (HPMBP oder HL) in Kohlenstofftetrachlorid aus wäßriger Phase in Abhängigkeit vompH der wäßrigen Phase sowie von der Konzentration von HPMBP in der organischen Phase wurde untersucht. Die folgende Gleichung beschreibt die Extraktionsreaktion: $$Ln^{3 + } + 3HL_{(0)} \rightleftharpoons LnL_{3(0)} + 3H^ + \left( {Ln^{3 + } = Er,Yb, Lu} \right)$$ Die Werte der Extraktions-Gleichgewichtskonstanten (K ex ) sowie der zweiphasigen Beständigkeitskonstanten (β 3 x ) für die KomplexeLnL 3 wurden berechnet.
    Notes: Abstract The solvent extraction of Er(III), Yb(III) and Lu(III) by 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-pyrazolone-5 (HPMBP or HL) in carbon tetrachloride has been studied as a function of thepH of the aqueous phase and the concentration of the extractant in the organic phase. The equation for the extraction reaction has been suggested as: $$Ln^{3 + } + 3HL_{(0)} \rightleftharpoons LnL_{3(0)} + 3H^ + \left( {Ln^{3 + } = Er,Yb, Lu} \right)$$ The extraction equilibrium constants (K ex ) and two-phase stability constants (β 3 x ) for theLnL 3 complexes have been evaluated.

Die Beständigkeits-Konstanten der in der Wasserphase entstehenden KomplexeLnL n(3−n) (n=1÷3), die Gleichgewichtskonstante der Extraktions-Reaktion: $$Ln(H_2 O)_m^{3 + } + 3HL_{(O)} \mathop \rightleftharpoons \limits^{K_{ex} } LnL_{3(O)} + 3H^ + + mH_2 O(Ln^{3 + } = Yb,Lu),$$ die zweiphasigen Beständigkeits-Konstanten der KomplexeLnL 3,pH 0.5 und der Trennungskoeffizient des Lu(III) von Yb(III) wurden bestimmt.
    Notes: Abstract The equilibrium of distribution of Yb(III) and Lu(III) between chloroform and the aqueous phase in the presence of cupferron (the ammonium salt of N-nitrosophenylhydroxylamine) were studied as apH function of the aqueous phase and the concentration of N-nitrosophenylhydroxylamine (HL).
