Summary The project «Quantification and qualification of ambulatory health care», financed by the Swiss National Science Foundation and covering the Cantons of Vaud and Fribourg, has two main goals: astructural study of the elements of the ambulatory care sector. This is done through inventories of the professions concerned (physicians, public health nurses, physiotherapists, pharmacists, medical laboratories), allowing to better characterize the «offer». This inventory work includes the collect and analysis of existing statistical data as well as surveys, by questionnaires sent (from September 1980) to the different professions and by interviews. afunctional study, inspired from the US National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey and from similar studies elsewhere, in order to investigate the modes of pratice of various providers, with particular regard to interprofessional collaboration (through studying referrals from the ones to the others). The first months of the project have been used for a methodological research in this regard, centered on the use of systems analysis, and for the elaboration of adequate instruments.

Zusammenfassung Dieses im Rahmen des Nationalen Forschungsprogramms Nr. 8 finanzierte Projekt verfolgt zwei Ziele: Eine Untersuchung der Strukturen der ambulanten Versorgung. Dazu wird ein Inventar für die wichtigsten Gesundheitsberufe erstellt (praktizierende Ärzte, Gesundheitsschwestern, Physiotherapeuten, Apotheker, Laboratorien) um das «Angebot» besser charakterisieren zu können. Dazu werden sowohl existierende Unterlagen, als auch Informationen benützt, welche in durch die Post zugestellten Fragebogen und durch Interviews gewonnen werden. Eine Untersuchung der Abläufe in der Versorgung. Dieser Teil ist vom National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey der USA inspiriert. Er erfasst die Arbeitsabläufe der verschiedenen Leistungsträger und deren Zusammenhang, inklusiv anhand des Überweisungsmusters. Die ersten Monate der Projektdauer wurden zur Erarbeitung der Methoden und Instrumente für die Datenerfassung benutzt.

Résumé Le projet «Quantification et qualification des prestations de soins ambulatoires», financé par le Fonds national suisse de la recherche scientifique et qui couvre les cantons de Vaud et Fribourg, a deux buts principaux: uneétude structurelle des éléments du secteur des soins ambulatoires. Il s'agit surtout d'inventaires des professions les plus importantes à cet égard (médecins, infirmières de santé publique, physiothérapeutes, pharmaciens, laboratoires) afin de disposer de données permettant de mieux caractériser le «secteur de l'offre». Ces inventaires incluent la recherche et l'analyse des données statistiques déjà existantes ainsi que des enquêtes, par questionnaires adressés (dès septembre 1980) aux différentes professions et par interviews. uneétude fonctionnelle, inspirée du National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey américain et des recherches similaires faites ailleurs, qui précise les modes de pratique des différents prestataires, en s'attachant particulièrement à la collaboration interprofessionnelle (en étudiant les renvois — referrals — effectués des uns aux autres). Les premiers mois du projet ont été mis à profit pour une étude méthodologique à cet égard, centrée sur l'analyse de systèmes, et l'élaboration d'instruments (fiches de relevé).
