    Notizen: Abstract Traumatic separation of the proximal femoral epiphysis is an uncommon birth injury that is difficult to diagnose early. A case is presented in which ultrasonography (US) was used to demonstrate the physeal injury. Early recognition of this injury with US may help prevent development of a permanent coxa vara deformity.

    Notizen: Abstract A concentrated depotassified beet vinasse was mixed with each of ten solid agricultural residues. The ten mixtures were composted for 7 months. The composts obtained after this period were used to fertilize a cotton crop. A mineral treatment was used for comparison and a treatment without fertilization was used as control. The nitrate content of petiole determined before the first top dressing revealed significant differences between treatments. All treatments produced higher yields than the control. Analysis of fibre quality did not show significant differences between treatments.

    Notizen: Abstract The effect of deltamethrin pretreatment on the pharmacokinetics and metabolism of antipyrine was studied in male rats. The total plasma clearance of antipyrine was significantly decreased by deltamethrin pretreatment (20 mg/kg and 40 mg/kg daily for 6 days prior to antipyrine administration), while the elimination half-life at β phase, the area under the concentration-time curve and the mean residence time of antipyrine were significantly increased. The magnitude of the observed changes was dose dependent. The urinary excretion of norantipyrine, 4-hydroxyantipyrine and 3-hydroxymethylantipyrine was decreased by 39%, 32% and 26%, respectively (p〈0.001) in the presence of deltamethrin. In addition, the rate constants for formation of each of these metabolites were significantly decreased by an average of approximately 71%. These results suggest that deltamethrin is capable of inhibiting oxidative metabolism, a finding which could be of clinical and toxicological significance.

    Notizen: Abstract The Bahía de Nenguange is one of the largest bays (5 km2) east of Santa Marta. The shore of the U-shaped bay is made up of steep slate rocks, interrupted by sandy beaches. The waters within the bay are rather shallow but get deeper to the north; in the western part, which is 10–12 m deep, a platform is situated. The western shore is subject to strong exposure of waves; the eastern half is calmer. On the eastern beach a small stand of mangroves is located. Altogether, 491 species of molluscs were found, belonging to 100 families and 259 genera. 12 molluscan assemblages have been documented: 4 distributed in the intertidal, and 8 in the sublittoral zone. The distribution of the sublittoral coenoses depends on the distribution of the substrates. Numerous microgastropods occur in coarse-grained sediments. Highest diversity was observed on fine and mixed sands. Variations documented in the diversity of theThalassia-coenosis and of the fine sand-mixed sand coenoses are due to changes in numbers of species, whereas the diversity on ooze is due likewise to modifications in the number of species and to evenness.

The reactions in seasoned vessels are homogeneous, follow a first order-law, and are unimolecular. The effect of α-substituents in acetates is discussed.
