Notes:
The barrier property of fluorinated surfaces was compared to the surface tension measurements. A relationship between barrier property and the solvent's surface tension was developed. However, other properties of both the solvent and the polymer contribute to barrier property. The surface tension of the polymer surface was separated into nonpolar, polar, and hydrogen bonding forces. By estimating the % γLD of various solvent mixtures, the % γSD was estimated for the polymer surface.
