Pigments of Cytinus hypocistis, I - Isoterchebin, the Yellow Pigment of Cytinus hypocistis (Rafflesiaceae, Parasitic Plants)From acetone extracts of fresh young shoots of Cytinus hypocitis a yellow, crystallinecompound of composition C41H30026 has been isolated by chromatography on cellulose and Sephadex. Hydrolysis products are: glucose, gallic acid, ellagic acid, brevifolin and brevifolincarboxylic acid (5). From chemical reactions and spectroscopic evidence the yellow pigment has been characterized as 1,2,3-trigalloyl-4,6-(isohexahydroxydiphenoyl)glucose (9). We therefore named this compound isoterchebin.

Aus einem Acetonextrakt frischer Cytinustriebe wurde durch Chromatographie an Cellulose und Sephadex eine gelbe. kristalline Verbindung der Zusammensetzung C41H31026 isoliert. Durch Hydrolyse entstehen: Glucose, Gallussäure, Ellagsäure, Brevifolin und Brevifolincarbonsäure (5). Der gelbe Farbstoff läβt sich durch chemische Reaktionen und spektroskopisch als 1,2,3-Trigalloyl-4,6-(isohexahydroxydiphenoyl)glucose (9) charakterisieren; deswegen nannten wir diese Verbindung Isoterchebin.
