Zusammenfasmng 9 Fälle von poliklinisch diagnostizierten Ponswinkeltumoren werden präsentiert. Die “klassischen” Symptome sind bekannt, jedoch ist die Diagnose im einzelnenFalle selten typisch. Die Verfasser sind der Ansicht, daß mit Hilfe einer verhältnismäßig einfachen Ausrüstung, d. h. Ton-, Sprachaudiometrie, Decayprobe, Stapediusreflex, einfachen vestibularen Prüfungen und Röntgen, die Diagnostik stark gefördert werden könnte. Von besonderer Bedeutung ist die Diskrepanz zwischen einer mäßigen Herabsetzung im Tonaudiogramm und einem stark verschlechterten oder ganz aufgehobenem Sprachverstehen des kranken Ohres.

Summary Nine cases of cerebellar-pontine angle tumors diagnosed clinically are being presented. Although the “classical” symptoms are well known, the diagnostic profile of single cases was rarely characteristic. Authors maintain that the diagnosis can be established with the aid of a relatively simple armamentarium that includes pure tone and speech audiometry, the tone-decay test, the stapedialreflex test, simple vestibular tests, and X-ray examination. Of special diagnostic significance is the discrepancy between the pure-tone audiogram, which may show only moderate changes, and the speech audiogram, which may show severe impairment or even indicate a complete inability to understand speech.
