Notes:
The synthesis of functional poly(methylhydro)siloxanes has been successfully performed by effective quantitative hydrosilylation of allyl derivatives (allyl phenyl ether, allyl glycidyl ether, allyl methacrylate, allyl chloride, allylamine) and 1-octene with poly(methylhydro)siloxanes catalyzed by platinum [Pt(PPh3)2(CH2=CH2), PtCl2(PPh3)2, H2PtCl6-cyclohexanone] and ruthenium (Ru3(CO)12) complexes. The products were isolated and characterized by 1H NMR, FT IR and GPC methods and can be regarded as examples of well-defined functionalized polysiloxanes with various practical applications. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
