Notes: Synthesis of 1-(Fluoromethyl)-, 1-(Fluoroformyl)-, and 1-Cyanobicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-enes1-(Difluoromethyl)bicyclo[2.2.2]oct-2-ene [1-(difluoromethyl)-bco, 8], 1-(trifluoromethyl)-bco (9), and 1-(fluoroformyl)-bco (10) were prepared by reacting 1-formyl-bco (5) or 1-carboxy-bco (6) with sulfur tetrafluoride. 1-(Hydroxymethyl)-bco (2) yields under rearrangement 1-fluorobicyclo[3.2.2]non-6-ene (1), so 1-(fluoromethyl)-bco (7) was synthesized by SN2 reaction with 4. 1-Cyano-bco (18) was build up in a six step synthesis starting with 4-cyano-3-(diethylamino)-cyclohexene (12).
