Notizen: The captured vortex system produced by the flow of a fluid along a plate containing a transverse rectangular cavity was investigated by measuring the local mass transfer coefficient kg on the cavity walls. Both transverse and peripheral kg profiles are presented for cavity depth-to-length ratios of 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 at free-stream velocities of 6.8, 13.5, and 27 ft./sec. for water evaporating into air. These profiles reflect the three-dimensional nature of the flow in the cavity.
