SYNOPSIS. Myxidium chelonarum Johnson is redescribed from the bile system of Pseudemys s. scripta (Schoepff) (yellow-bellied turtle) from Edenton, N.C. It was found in 13 other species and subspecies of turtles from North America. Trophozoite: green, round, flat, slightly ameboid, 11-180 μ in diameter, hyaline ectoplasm, granular endoplasm, polysporous. Spore: boat shaped, suture lines indistinct, 4–6 striae arranged obliquely across spore, 2 polar capsules, polar filament 5–7 coils, average 32 μ long, spore 14 by 4 by 4 μ.Eight species of vertebrates were not susceptible.
