    Notes: Summary It has been shown that the modification ofDarcys law as suggested bySrivastava andAbrol (1969) may not be generally valid. Instead, it is suggested that the flow of water through the clay-water system may be more properly described by an extension of theOnsager reciprocal relation involving non-linear phenomenological coefficients.
