Conclusions Requirements for antistats to ensure a long-term antistat effect for PAN fibre which has been modified in the gel state have been proposed and given a foundation. It has been shown that surface modification of PAN gel-fibre by the LC salts indicated above ensures an antistatic effect which is resistant to hand washing, a high moisture absorbing power on contact with moisture, and a soft hand, without impairing physico-mechanical properties.
