Notes: Abstract A theory allowing the full determination of the texture function of a polycrystalline ferromagnet with cubic symmetry of the polycrystallites is developed. Standard group theoretical methods are used, which allow to make maximum use of the full symmetry of the system, without imposing any restriction on the generality of the problem. The magnetocrystalline anisotropy energy of the textured sample is expanded in spherical harmonics and the corresponding energy of the crystallites is expanded in a series of symmetry-adapted spherical harmonics. The texture function is expanded in a series of symmetry-adapted generalized spherical harmonics. A relation between the coefficients of these expansions is determined. It is shown that the texture function can be experimentally calculated using torque curves.

Notes: Two-quanta anharmonic spectra, namely overtones and combination bands with degenerate vibrations, in uniaxial gyrotropic crystals from point group of symmetry C3, D3, C4, D4, are investigated, with due account taken of the time inversion. The symmetry of two-phonon states is studied. A general model of the anharmonicity and the influence of the crystal chiral structure on intermolecular exchange of the circularly polarized degenerate vibrations is elaborated. The contribution of overtones and of the combination bands to dielectric permittivity tensor, and to the gyration tensor is studied too. The paper also deals with the IR and vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra near the frequencies of the unbound and of the bound two-phonon states as well as the general features of two-phonon circularly polarized states appearing in the linear and in nonlinear optical processes in gyrotropic crystals.

Notes: All 2571 permutational colour space groups G(P) ≡ T(1) Ĝ(P) isostructural to the 230 space groups are tabulated and classified. The method for constructing these groups is described. The permutational representation DH'G associated with each G(P) is given in order to make the physical applications easier. The group-theoretical criteria of the Landau theory have been checked in connection with the colour space- group application in phase transition analysis. Comparison with the results of other authors is given.

Notes: The auxiliary group approach developed in Paper 1 [R. Dirl, P. Kasperkovitz, M. I. Aroyo, J. N. Kotzev, and M. Angelova-Tjurkedjieva, J. Math. Phys. 27, 37 (1986)] is generalized for the case of corepresentations of antiunitary groups. It allows us to reduce the multiplicity problem and to derive consistent generating relations for the elements of the reducing matrices for coreps. Two examples are worked out to illustrate the general scheme.

Notes: In the first two of this series of papers [R. Dirl et al., J. Math. Phys. 27, 37 (1986); M. I. Aroyo et al., ibid. 27, 2236 (1986)] a systematic method to calculate the elements of reducing matrices has been developed. In this paper this "auxiliary group approach'' is adapted to multiple Kronecker products. Three examples are worked out to illustrate the efficiency of generating relations and the proposed reduction of the multiplicity problem.

Notes: A subduced representation DA↓GB is a (co)representation of the group GB obtained by restricting the (co)representation DA of a supergroup GA to the elements of GB. A systematic and efficient method for calculating the matrices needed for the decomposition of DA↓GB into irreducible constituents is discussed in this paper where the auxiliary group approach developed previously [J. Math. Phys. 27, 37, 2236 (1986); 28, 1947 (1987)] is adopted to the present problem.

Notes: The relations between isoscalar factors for corepresentations of antiunitary magnetic point groups are discussed in the case of associated corepresentations. The tables of the isoscalar factors for the single- and double-valued corepresentations of all tetragonal, orthorhombic, monoclinic, and triclinic Shubnikov point groups are given. Some peculiarities of the calculation method of the isoscalar factors for corepresentations are considered.
