Conclusions 1. The relative retention times, Kovach indices, and specific retention volumes (distribution coefficients) were determined for several groups of compounds, including such unstable compounds as acetals of acetylenic aldehydes and the products of their chemical transformations. 2. The heats, entropies, and free energies of solution of the indicated substances were found. Their activity coefficients were estimated. 3. A linear relationship of the free energy of solution and the value of the Kovach index was demonstrated experimentally with these compounds as an example. 4. The presence of a clear correlation between the heat and entropy of solution was established for the compounds studied (the compensation effect).
