Summary The effect of increased blood volume on the granulated cells of the juxtaglomerular apparatus has been investigated. The increased blood volume was induced by a single, quickly given infusion of plasma-expander (Polyvidon, Subtosan) in a quantity of 10% of body-weight. The juxtaglomerular index was still the same after infusion or after infusion and BaCl2 treatment. But after infusion and simultaneous Papaverin treatment the juxtaglomerular index was reduced significantly. Authors are of the opinion that the acutely increased blood volume increases the renal blood flow, because Papaverin treatment paralyses the renal autoregulation. As a consequence, the increased stretch exerted upon the walls of the preglomerular arterioles causes a degranulation of the juxtaglomerular cells. The possibility is discussed that under physiological circumstances the substance of the granules-influencing the aldosteron secretion of the zona glomerulosa — is active in the preservation of the sodium-homeostasis and the normal blood volume.
Notizen:
