Notes: Summary The pattern of 7 selected enzymes in fibrocytes of the tendo calcaneus has been evaluated with 30 male wistar rats. The animals had been subjected to a specified training program of different duration and speed (long distance training, interval and speed training) for a period of 110 days. The enzymes examined were: adenosintriphosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, arylsulfatase, β-glucuronidase, leucinaminopeptidase, acid phosphatase, succinic dehydrogenase, 220385 enzymepositive granula without counterstaining were counted in 16924 connective tissue cells. Arylsulfatase, β-glucuronidase and succinic dehydrogenase were inactive in unstained control animals. Exact enzyme granula counts in the fibrocytes of trained animals revealed increased adenosintriphosphatase, alcaline and acid phosphatase and leucinaminopeptidase concentrations up to three times of the normal; the rate of stimulation grew from untrained animals to those subjected to long distance training, interval and high speed training programs.

Description / Table of Contents: Ceramic lining of coal flyash gasifiers. As entrained-bed variants the coal gasification processes of the “second generation” are characterized by operation under high pressures and at high temperatures. Temperature induced stress in the pressurebearing reactor walls is counteracted by a ceramic lining in the reactor. This lining has to resist the corrosive, erosive and abrasive attack by the liquid slags and the hot gasifier atmosphere, and also to withstand the pressure fluctuations. These requirements can only be met by complex, specially developed heat-resistant materials. This report deals with tests carried out with picrochromite materials. The results show that a service life in excess of one year can be expected.
