Notes: Micro powder metal injection molding has received attention as a manufacturingtechnology for microparts. Small powder size is very useful in achieving detailed structures. STSnanopowders with an average diameter of 100 nm and STS micropowders with an average diameterof 5 micron were utilized to produce feedstock. The mixing behavior of the feedstock was indicatedthat the nanoparticle feedstock produce highest mixing torque at various powder_loading than themicropowder feedstock. Ares rheometer was utilized to examine visco-elatic flow behavior. Thenanoparticles feedstocks showed that elastic properties are dominant in flow behavior and highviscosity. Whereas the micropowders feedstocks, viscous properties are dominant in flow behaviorand less viscosity

Notes: The synthesis of silver coated iron base alloy (Sendust : Fe-Si-Al) powder having theboth effects of shielding and suppressing of electromagnetic wave was studied. Depending onthickness of silver coating layer, the electromagnetic properties of the dispersed particlescomplexed with organic binder were examined. EDS-SEM, XRD, ohm meter, network analyzer(PNA8364A) measurements were used to characterize the electromagnetic properties. The silvercoated powders have a better microwave absorbance than non coated powder in the low frequencyrange of below 1.0GHz, which is due to a high dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the silver inmicrowave frequencies magnetic loss in addition to conduction loss. Reflection loss of the 5%silver containing composite was found to be –6 dB at 1.0GHz with 1.0mm thickness. It is, therefore, successfully proposed that the silver coated sendust flake powders with controlled electricalproperties and thickness can be used as thin microwave absorbers in quasi-microwave frequencyband

Notes: Fe/SiO2 nanocomposite powders were synthesized by the chemical vaporcondensation(CVC) process. Phase and microstructures of the as-prepared powders were investigated with CVC experimental parameters by XRD, TEM and VSM. The analysis of XRD patterns revealed that the Fe/SiO2 powders could be produced above 700[removed info]. With increasing reaction temperature, the XRD peaks became clearer. The size of powders was about 50nm at 1100oC. The Fe/SiO2 powders showed an intricate long-stand structure attributed to their magnetic characteristics. TEM results revealed that the Fe powders were covered by SiO2 layer fully or partially depending on the experimental condition. The saturation magnetization and the coercive force of the as-sytheised powders were investigated with the decomposition temperature

Notes: Abstract Adsorption of cephalosporin C in a column charged with a nonionic polymeric sorbent, SP850, was studied at various pH values to assess the effect of pH on the dynamic behavior in column adsorbers. Since cephalosporin C is amphoteric, the fractions of each ionic form were calculated from the pK values at a given solution pH. Single-species isotherm parameters for each ionic form were simultaneously extracted from all sets of adsorption equilibrium data measured at several pH values. The mutual interaction between different ionic forms on SP850 was described by a competitive adsorption, namely the ideal adsorbed solution theory (IAST). This treatment made it possible to simulate the dynamic behavior of cephalosporin C at low pH values properly by a dynamic model which was incorporated with the mutual competitive adsorption.

Notes: A new graphical estimation technique is proposed for the determination of the kinetic parameters describing an autocatalytic reaction. A differential scanning calorimeter was used to monitor the reaction kinetics of an epoxy-based vinyl ester resin. The method utilizes information from a zero initial reaction rate, conversation at vitrification, the ratio of reaction rate constants under different isothermal conditions, and characteristics of the phenomenological kinetic model with assumptions being made about the overall reaction order. By fitting data to the integrated reaction rate equation with adjustments for the isothermal conditions, the kinetic parameters are estimated without using a linear or nonlinear regression method. Different kinetic parameters can be estimated from data before and after the gel point which was obtained from the relationship between the glass transition temperature and the degree of cure.

Notes: ABSTRACT : We have investigated a novel monomer having two pendent phenyl imido groups for preparing new cycloaliphatic-aromatic polyamides. Novel polyamides were synthesized by direct polycondensation reaction of N,N'-diphenyl-2,3,5,6-diimido cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxylic acid(PICA) and various aromatic diamines such as p-phenylene diamine, 4,4'-oxydianiline and 4,4'-methylene dianiline. A direct polycondensation was carried out by a Yamazaki method which is typical of using triphenyl phosphite, lithium chloride, and pyridine. Inherent viscosity of these resulting polyamides are ranged 0.20 ∼ 0.45 dl/g. A transparent flexible and tough film was casted. The glass transition temperature of the polyamide from the PICA and 4,4'-oxydianiline is 147 °C. The decomposition temperature of these polyamides are ranged from 350 ∼ 360 °C and the ash contents of them orders MDA 〉 p-PDA 〉 ODA according to kinds of the using diamines. And the solubilities of these polyamides are good in aprotic solvents such as DMAc, NMP, DMF.
