Notes: [Auszug] The barefoot subjects had shaped, fine mesh stainless steel electrodes taped over the heel and toe regions of both feet on top of an insulating layer of adhesive tape. The toe electrode covered the area under the big toe as well as the pad of the foot directly behind the toes, and the heel ...

Notes: [Auszug] This communication deals with the effects of surface stimulation on normal human beings. The relationships between isometric force, pain and surface area of electrodes have been studied for stimuli which elicit tetanic contractions. Pain studies of various kinds have been performed in the past, and ...

Notes: Abstract The multidisciplinary feeding profile (MFP) is the first statistically based protocol for the quantitative assessment of feeding disorders in severely disabled children. This assessment can be completed in 30–45 min with foods and facilities that are available in homes, hospitals, and chronic care units. This paper describes the state of current testing methods, the parameters of successful feeding activity, the development of the test protocol, and the results of statistical analyses.

Notes: Abstract The development of the multidisciplinary feeding profile entailed a level of statistical analyses not commonly utilized in test development. This paper describes the statistical analyses and offers an explanation of why specific statistical tests were chosen. It also serves to identify where clinical knowledge and experience overrode specific statistical tests.

Notes: Abstract Multichannel electromyographic studies of human locomotion can be greatly facilitated by the use of a multiplexer-demultiplexer system as described in this note. The system has 8-channel capability, each channel having a bandwidth from d.c. to 1800 Hz, and channel separation is at least 30 dB.

Notes: Abstract A c.c.d-image sensor has been used to obtain virtually online trajectories of moving objects in one plane. The image data acquired are stored and processed by several programs to yield displays which enable interpretation and measurement to be effected. Our major concern is in regard to kinesiological data allied with human locomotor function.
