Notes: A sufficient condition to relate the general solutions of two different bidimensional problems, both in classical and quantum mechanics, is found. The point transformation, as well as the explicit construction of the related potentials, is presented. The procedure is then used in geometrical optics, the vibrating membrane, and other physical systems in two dimensions. Several examples and applications are worked out.

Notes: Sufficient conditions on the Christoffel symbols and metric tensors to insure the existence of affine collineations in Riemann spaces are obtained. A proof of the group property of affine collineations is given. Several examples of physically relevant Riemannian spaces admitting affine collineations are presented and the constants of motion are constructed.

Notes: Abstract We use Lanczos equations to analyze the motionof shells in the gravitational field of a sphericallysymmetric central body. A first integral of Israel'smatching conditions is used to show that the motion of the shell depends on the equation of stateof the shell matter. In particular, the case of abarotropic equation of state is analyzed. The questionof how the type of motion determines the equation of state for the matter of the shell is alsoinvestigated.

Notes: Abstract Using invariant transformations of the five-dimensional Kaluza-Klein (KK) field equations, we find a series of formulae to derive axially symmetric stationary exact solutions of the KK theory starting from static ones. The procedure presented in this work allows to derive new exact solutions up to very simple integrations. Among other results, we find exact rotating solutions containing magnetic monopoles, dipoles, quadrupoles, etc., coupled to scalar and to gravitational multipole fields.
