2. In verdünnten Lösungen giltk s 〉k b , in konzentrierten Lösungenk s 〈k b . 6. Die Bestimmung der Oberflächenleitfähigkeit von Pyrex-Glas ergab Werte von 2,2±0,2·10−9Ω−1
Notes:
Summary 1. The conductivity of the films which remains on the glass tube wall after its emptying and free drainage of the liquid, is composed of conductivities of the solution of the film (k b ) and the surface conductivity of the glass (k s ). 2. In diluted solutionsk s 〉k b , whereas in concentrated solutionsk s 〈k b . This fact permits to elaborate a new method to determine the thickness (h) of the film which remains on the tube wall and the specific conductance of surface (k s 0). 3. After emptying and free drainage of solutions, a film layer of electrolyte solutions of the orderμ: 1–2μ after 30 min drainage and 0.3–0.4μ after 24 h drainage, remains on the tube walls. 4. The thickness of the film of viscous colloidal solutions is of the order of manyμ. 5. The surface tension has only a limited influence on the thickness of the film. 6. The determination of the surface specific conductance (k s 0) of the pyrex glass gave a value of 2.2±0.2×10−9 Ω −1.
