Zusammenfassung Durch Anordnung von 6 scharfkantigen Kufen, die 1/12 eines Kreises darstellen, ergibt sich eine bessere Rotationsstabilität. Ein neues Ein-Ausschlaginstrumentarium, bei dem der Nagel auf einen Führungsstab aufgeschraubt wird, wird dargestellt. Implantatwerkstoffe sind Tantal und Niob. Im Zugversuch zeigen Otte-Nägel 75% der Festigkeit des Stahlnagels. Im Biegeversuch zeigen sie größere elastische und plastische Durchbiegung, die leichteres Einschlagen und bessere Anpassung an die Knochengeometrie ermöglicht. Geringe Fremdkörperreaktion nach Nagelentfernung zeigt die gute Gewebeverträglichkeit.

Summary By arranging 6 sharp-edged blades, each of which comprises 1/12 of a circle, one may obtain much improved rotational stability. The new insertion and extraction instruments that are screwed on to the driver are described. The implant materials are tantalum and niobium. In stress trials the Otte nail achieved 75 % of the tensile strength of steel nails. In strain tests they showed greater elastic and plastic bending moments, which allow easier insertion and a better fit to the bone geometry. The minimal foreign body reaction after insertion indicated good tissue compatibility.
