Polarographic Investigations in Organic Solvents. V. The Behaviour of Dioctylammonium Ion Pairs of the Dodecamolybdato Heteropoly Acids of Silicon, Germanium, Phosphorus, and ArsenicIon pairs of di-n-octylamine (N-system) and heteropolymolybdatoacids of silicon (SiMo), germanium (GeMo), phosphorus (PMo), and arsenic (AsMo) show characteristic polarographic signals in ethanolic LiCl solution. α and β isomeres can be differentiated more definitely than after extraction with n-butylamine(1) (O-system) and determined simultaneously by AC-rapid polarography. Rates and energies of the β → α-transformation of SiMo and first time of GeMo have been evaluated. They agree with formerly(1) measured values of SiMo in the O-systems. The halflifetime of β-GeMo is about thirty times shorter than that of β-SiMo. PMo and AsMo appear only in one species corresponding to the α-form. If β-PMo and β-AsMo exist as intermediates the halflifetime must be shorter than 3 seconds. The polarograms of the N-system can be converted continuously into those of the O-system by adding acetic acid. Ammonium ion pairs are reduced at more positive potentials than oxonium compounds. N- and O-signals both appear in the N-system. The type of reduction is the same in both systems. But there appear only twoelectron and proton steps in the O-system(1) whereas an 1e-1H(+ step has been found in the N-system.
Notizen:
