Notes: Abstract With the help of an extended Cabibbo model for the weak hadronic vector current which includes the 10 and ¯10 representations to account for possibleΔS=-ΔQ transitions, a prediction is made for the quantity (1-¦x¦2)/¦1−x¦2 wherex=A(K0→πüe−¯v)/A(¯K0→πüe−¯v) using the experimental branching ratio Γ(K−→ π0e−¯v/Γ(K L 0 →πüe−¯v). From the known charge asymmetry in the decay of the long lived kaon one then obtains Reɛ.

Notes: Abstract A study is made of the mechanism which generates the singularities in the legs of the Feynman amplitudes associated with the vertex and box diagrams; it is found that these singularities are very closely tied to the existence of anomalous thresholds for sufficiently large values of the external masses.

Notes: Abstract We study the nonlinear equations for matrix elements of the gluon fields between heavy quark-antiquark states in an SU(2) Yang-Mills theory, obtained by saturating the operator products with $$q\bar q$$ -intermediate states only. Equations of this kind have been proposed by Giles and McLerran and Adler before. We present exact solutions to these equations consistent with the charge algebra. These solutions lead to total screening, i.e. the color charge of the gluons exactly cancels that of the quarks. We also calculate the energy of the system and find that the result is in agreement with the screening effect.

Notes: Abstract Assuming that the Bardakçi-RueggB 5-function is relevant for the dynamical description of hadronic single particle production processes we construct a model for the π π π $${\cal N}\bar {\cal N}$$ -five-point function. For the invariant functions appearing in a suitably chosen invariant decomposition an ansatz is made in terms ofB 5-functions multiplied by polynomials of the invariant variables which are required by factorization. The Regge trajectories introduced are those of the π, ϱ,P′, ω and $$\mathcal{N}$$ . With this set of trajectories, admitting as small a number of satellite terms as possible, invariant functions are constructed having both the correct crossing and factorization properties at the π, $$\mathcal{N}$$ (and $$\bar {\cal N}$$ ) poles. Further constraints emerge from an investigation of the asymptotic behaviour in the single Regge limits. Only one parameter remains undetermined. As an application of the model consequences for the process $$\pi \mathcal{N} \to \rho \mathcal{N}$$ are studied.

Notes: Abstract The one pion exchange contribution to the differentialπ − p→π − pω cross-section is calculated assuming that theπ→πω amplitude associated with one of the vertices is described by the Veneziano formula, and that only a trivial dependence of the latter on the mass of the exchanged pion needs to be taken into account. The remaining unknown overall constant is then fixed by considering the decayω→3π. A rough comparison with preliminary data from a 16 GeV/cπ − p experiment shows that the one pion exchange model could possibly describe the reactionπ − p→π − pω forπω masses above 1.4 GeV.

Notes: Abstract The annihilation of then¯p-system at rest into three pions is discussed within the framework of a dual model for the πππN¯N-five point function obtained in previous work. It is shown that with suitable modifications the model is able to describe the experimental data.
