Abstract:
Notes:
Summary Investigation of the peak shape under the conditions of preparative chromatography has shown that under moderate overloads the peak can be approximated by a Gaussian curve and its efficiency can be estimated with the number of theoretical plates. Study of separation conditions vs the height equivalent to a theoretical plate (HETP) showed that the relationships derived on the assumption of a linear sorption isotherm are in quantitative agreement with the experiment.
