Notes: Summary In repeated application on dogs of a constant static load in combination with conditioned stimulus we have observed four stages of changes in the action of heart EKG. 1. In the beginning of training they are best expeessed immediately after action of static load (Lindhardt phenomenon). 2. They are equal during and after load. 3. They are noted only during load. 4. No essential changes both during and after load. All these stages are reproduced by conditioned stimulus. The phenomenon of static effort is caused by reflex influences from proprioreceptors.

Notes: Summary The following phenomena were noted in dogs 14 months after section of the posterior trunks of the spinal cord in comparison with intact animals: the value of the time of retaining of the load decreases, the effect of unconditioned reflexes from the proprioceptors on the heart decreases, Lindhardt's phenomenon and training to static load are absent. However, the orientation reaction of the heart to light and sound stimuli is retained for a long time. Formation, extinguishing, restoration and change of conditioned reflexes are 4 to 10 times slower.

Notes: Summary The conditioned reflexes formed on the basis of unconditioned changes of the blood pressure in stimulation of the proprioceptors with the aid of static load were studied in experiments on 3 dogs. It was demonstrated that the reflexes referred to above are rapidly, acquired, reestablished and changed, but in comparison with this their extinction is slower. It is thus assumed that these conditioned reflexes provide the adjustment of the function of the cardiovascular system to the constantly changing conditions of the body existence.

Notes: Summary Alterations of conditioned reflexes which we studied takes place in dogs after 3–4 combinations. In the neurosis which appears, the stimulus, which was formerly differential, enhances the disorder of the heart activity while the one that was formerly positive normalizes it. Neurosis is maintained only for 14–17 days if the animals are removed from the room where experiments of alteration of reflexes were conducted. One 3-year-old dog completely recovered from neurosis in a fortnight. The environment in which alteration of reflexes took place maintained disturbances of the heart activity for 5 months in a 9 year old dog, without administration of additional stimulation.

Notes: Summary Proprloccptive condtioned reflexes on the heart were studied in 5 dogs with the aid of electrocardiography. These refloxes are formed after 6–10 combinations of conditioned and unconditioned stimulations and are preserved for a long time in the intervals between experiments. Their frequency is actively increased, if not reinforced, 3–4 times and are restored after 1–2 combinations. Differentlation takes place after 1–4 stimulations. These properties show the leading role of proprioceptive conditioned reflexes in adaptation of the heart activity to the changing conditions of the body.

Notes: Abstract We present results of the assessment of the efficiency of hyperbaric oxygenation therapy in 104 patients with cerebrovascular diseases. Of these patients 32 had chronic cerebrovascular insufficiency and 72 showed transient disturbances of the cerebral circulation. A good effect was noted in 74 patients, a satisfactory one in 22, and a doubtful one in 8 patients. It is concluded from clinical, electrophysiological, psychophysiological, biochemical, and ophthalmoscopic examinations that hyperbaric oxygenation therapy is quite efficient when used as part of a combined therapy and as a means of prompt therapy of acute cerebrovascular crises. Observations over three to five years of patients repeatedly receiving the hyperbaric oxygenation therapy at 6 month intervals allows us to recommend it for the prevention of cerebral strokes.
