Summary The lithium content of brine mother liquors may be determined by the flame photometer after the sodium chloride has been removed by means of hydrogen chloride gas. A simplified calibrating process is used, based on the addition of known amounts of lithium corresponding to an internal standard procedure. The usability of these methods is demonstrated by the results of the investigation of Austrian saltworks mother liquors.

Résumé La teneur en lithium d'eaux mères de salines peut être déterminée par photométrie de flamme, après séparation du chlorure de sodium par action de l'acide chlorhydrique gazeux. A cette fin, on met en œuvre une technique d'étalonnage très simple reposant sur l'addition de quantités connues de lithium ayant effet d'étalon interne. Les résultats des recherches effectuées sur les eaux-mères de salines autrichiennes ont montré l'intérêt de la méthode.

Zusammenfassung Der Lithiumgehalt von Salzmutterlaugen läßt sich flammenphotometriseh nach Abscheidung des Kochsalzes mit Chlorwasserstoffgas ermitteln. Hiezu dient ein einfaches Eichverfahren auf der Grundlage der Zumischung bekannter Lithiummengen, entsprechend einem Internal-Standard-Verfahren. Resultate der Untersuchung österreichischer Salinen-Mutterlaugen zeigen die Brauchbarkeit der Methode,
