Description / Table of Contents:
Naturally Occurring Terpene Derivatives, 106. On Further α-Longipinene Derivatives from CompositesThe investigation of further Stevia species affords besides known compounds several new α-longipinene derivatives (14-16, 19-30, 33, 34, 38, and 39) as well as the bisabolene derivatives 41 and 42. From Tanacetum tanacetioides the basic compound, 1-oxo-α-longipinene (1), and the germacranolide 9 have been isolated. The structures have been elucidated by extensive spectroscopic investigations and by some chemical transformations. The isolation of 14 supports the postulated biogenesis of the longipinene derivatives. The chemotaxonomical importance of this group of sesquiterpenes is discussed.
Notes:
