Notizen:
Hydrophobically modified polyelectrolytes (polysoaps) are a unique class of water-soluble polymers containing distinct hydrophobic and hydrophilic regions. Above a certain concentration, polysoaps form intramolecular and intermolecular aggregates in aqueous solution. They have attracted much attention not only for their ability to mimic some functions demonstrated by biopolymers but also for their important industrial applications. This review highlights some interesting features of novel non-cross-linked and cross-linked poly(alkylmethyldiallylammonium halides) that have been described in recent years. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
