Notes: [Auszug] Knowing trom experience the frequent frustrations and pitfalls of measuring dT/d A from seismic array data and interpreting it as a function of distance, I welcome the suggestion of Lilwall and Douglas for using only the azimuth-determining properties of seismic arrays in epicentre determinations. ...

Notes: Summary In the present paper the formulation and solution of the initial boundary value problem of elastic-plastic bodies undergoing finite displacements are discussed. A systematical construction of appropriate plate models is given. The theory presented is illustrated by the numerical solution of a simple example.

Notes: Summary In this paper, the problem of the elasto-viscoplastic dynamic behaviour of geometrically non-linear plates and shells is studied under the assumption of small strains and moderate rotations. The Chaboche and Bodner-Partom models were chosen among several types of constitutive laws. To avoid the calculation of the stiffness matrix, an effective procedure using the central difference method of solving the equations of motion was applied. The trapezoidal method was used to integrate the constitutive viscoplastic laws. A nine-node isoparametric shell element was utilised for the finite element algorithm.

Notes: Summary Shakedown theory is applied to the determination of plastically admissible ranges of external loads for periodic metal-matrix composites. A link is established between local stress-fields in a representative volume element on the microlevel and admissible stresses on the macrolevel by the use of the homogenisation technique. The developed methodology is applied for illustration to the problem of the best choice of design parameters for a composite.

Notes: Rheological measurements can give interesting informations for the characterization of fermentation broth, especially concerning the depending of the oxygen transfer rate. Rheological measurements can report decisions for choosing the best reactor type or other process steps e.g. purification and separation. An advantageous method was used by the combination of a dynamic process-viscosimeter with the fermenter and the continuous measurement of medium density by X-ray absorption method.

Notes: Five micro fungi of the type Fusaria were investigated for the bioconversion of agricultural piant wastes. One strain was favoured for protein enrichment in heat-pretreated straw, also improving digestibility in the fodder produced. The influence of the chitin content in the fodder was studied, and for calculating raw-protein from the organic nitrogen content an additional factor of 0.92 was proposed to the known factor of 6.25. For the application of Fusaria strains in bioconversion processes a prognosis a prognosis was offered.

Notes: Several balanced experiments of protein enrichment have shown that if ammonia is the sole N source in the bioconversion of lignocellulosics, significant data on the process can either be received from the N consumption determined, or from fixed organic nitrogen.Nitrogen can be a guide element for such data as cell biomass, utilized substrate, degree of bioconversion, specific substrate consumption coefficient, crude protein and crude protein yield, which are all necessary for the classification of fungi and substrates as well as for process characterization and optimization.
