Organic Metal Complexes, XIX.- The Structure of the Compounds from Mercury(II) and Substituted β-Diketones3-Methyl-, 3-ethyl-, and 3-phenylacetylacetone (6a-c) react with mercury(II) at C-3 to give 2:1 compounds of type 8, whereas 3-isopropyl- and 3-tert-butylacetylacetone and also 1,8-dekalinedione (15a) form polymer 1:1 complexes, in which the ligands are connected to chains of type 13 and 17 by mercury at the outer C—H bonds. Obviously it is possible to push away the mercury atom from C-3 by bulky substituents, but then it is bonded to the less acidic α-carbon atoms and not to oxygen. Only in some cases open enolate structures (9, 10) could be detected in equilibria in solution.
Notizen:
