Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Abstract New considerable improvements in the routine vacuum spectrometric analysis of low-alloy steel samples have been achieved by using a high energy prespark discharge for special conditioning of the sample surface. Therefore the sparking time is reduced for about 67% without any loss of precision. In the original time an automatic three-point-sparking may be performed and makes possible a computer control system in the total procedure of spectrometric steel analysis that would exert some form of critical judgement similar to the human element in manual analysis. This will provide a guarantee for a more accurate analytical control of steel production.
