    Notes: Abstract Thin titanium nitride films of 10–300 nm thickness were irradiated with 84Kr ions of 80–700 keV energy and fluences ranging from 1016 cm2 to 2×1017 cm2. Sputter yields (Y=0.4–1.0) and mixing rates (k=0.05–0.5 nm4) were determined using the depth profiling methods RBS, RNRA, and PIXE. While the sputter yields agree well with the modified Sigmund theory, the energy dependence of the mixing rates cannot be explained by standard models.

    Notes: Abstract TDPAC measurements were carried out on111In-implanted α-Nb2O5 samples at room temperature, after isochronal annealings up to 1270 K in 200 mbar oxygen and up to 1070 K in 10−5 mbar, respectively. The observed hyperfine interactions were compared to point charge model calculations which predict 15 and 2 equivalent cation sites in α-Nb2O5 and NbO2. The data in each system could be reproduced with one antishielding factor β=Vzz exp/Vzz pc for all sites, i. e. β(Nb2O5)=19.2 and β(NbO2)=31.2, respectively.

    Notes: Abstract The hyperfine environment of111Cd nuclei formed in the radioactive decay of111In ions implanted into CoO was studied via the PAC method. The quadrupole coupling constants measured in isochronal and isothermal annealing treatments at various oxygen pressures were related to the initial stages of the CoO→Co3O4 phase transition and interpreted as the successive trapping of cation vacancies at the111In probe. The phase transition was confirmed by X-ray diffraction, RBS and a PAC measurement on111Cd in spinel type Co3O4.

    Notes: Abstract The IMPAD technique has been used to determine the Larmor precessions of the83Y 595 keV 13/2+ and 145 keV 7/2+ states in iron. The net precessions found are ωτ(13/2+)=−9(2) mrad and ωτ(7/2+)=−92(5) mrad, leading to g-factors, g(13/2+)=+1.3(4) and g(7/2+)=+0.61(18). These results are discussed in terms of a partially decoupled [422]5/2+ Nilsson band.

    Notes: Abstract The electric and (antiferro-)magnetic hyperfine interaction of111Cd in α-Cr2O3 after111In implantation was studied via PAC. Two fractions with axially symmetric electric field gradients were observed having antishielding factors of Vzz/Vzz pc=79(12) and 106(16), respectively. From the line broadening of the Fourier components of the first fraction its supertransferred magnetic field was estimated as Bloc (20 K)≤0.41 T, about two orders of magnitude smaller than for substitutional111Cd in NiO and CoO.

    Notes: Abstract The structural phase transition from α-Rh2O3 to β-Rh2O3 has been studied via the PAC method on dilute111Cd impurity atoms implanted into α-Rh2O3. The measured antishielding factor β=112 (2) in the α-phase is similar to that found for111Cd in other oxides with corundum structure (Al2O3. Cr2O3, Fe2O3). Oxygen with different crystallographic matrices show a pronounced correlation of the electric field gradient with the NN oxygen coordination.
