Notes: Abstract The World Health Organization issued a nitrosation procedure (NAP Test) which allows to carry out nitrosation under standard conditions. It has proved that the in vitro reaction rates of the fast nitrosatable drugs piperazine, cimetidine and ethambutol are not influenced by α-, β- and γ-cyclodextrin. On the contrary, β-, γ-cyclodextrin and heptakis-2,6-di-O-methyl-β-cyclodextrin enhance the nitrosation of the slower nitrosatable 1-ephedrine and fencamfamine significantly. This possible reaction must be considered if nitrosatable drugs are formulated with cyclodextrins to be administered to human beings.

Notes: Abstract Purpose. Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLN) are an alternative carrier system for the controlled delivery of drugs. In most cases prednisolone loaded SLN show a biphasic release behaviour. The initial phase is characterised by a fast drug release, which is followed by a sustained drug release over several weeks. Methods. The particles are produced by high pressure homogenisation of a lipid (e.g. compritol, cholesterol) dispersed in an aqueous surfactant solution. In this study atomic force microscopy was used to image the original unaltered shape and surface properties of the particles. The crystallinity of the nanoparticles was investigated by differential scanning calorimetry. Results. The AFM investigations revealed the disc like shape of the particles. From differential scanning calorimetry data it can be concluded that the particle core is in the crystalline state. Additionally it was proven that the particles are surrounded by a soft layer. Conclusions. Thus it is conceivable that the fast initial drug release during in vitro dissolution tests takes place by drug release of the outer non-crystalline layers of the particles. The following sustained drug release can be assigned to the predisolone release of the inner crystalline particle layers.

Notes: Abstract We report on measurements of the reactionep→enπ+ in the region of theD 13(1520) andF 15(1688) resonances. At an invariant four-momentum transferq 2=0.3 (GeV/c)2 the outgoing pion was detected in the forward and backward directions. The values of the helicity-1/2-partial wave amplitudesA 2−(D 13(1520)) andA 3−(F 15(1688)) are determined from these measurements. A comparison of the results with single quark transition models is made.

Notes: Abstract The reactionep→enπ + has been studied in the invariant mass range of 1.44≦W≦1.83 GeV. The outgoing pion was detected in the backward direction (cosλ π * ≦-0.94) with respect to the virtual photon at four-momentum transfers of 0.4≦q 2≦0.7 (GeV/c)2. The values of the helicity-1/2-partial wave amplitudesA 2−(D 13(1520)) andA 3−(F 15(1688)) were determined by a phenomenological analysis and compared with single quark transition models (S.Q.T.M.).

Notes: Abstract The present study investigated the effects of didactic and experiential supervision procedures on the judged counseling effectiveness of high and low cognitive complexity counselor trainees. Subjects in the two supervision groups (N=16) were trained in attending, questioning, and reflection of feeling over three sessions. Training consisted of exposure to videotaped counseling models, discussion of the model's behavior with the supervisor, videotaped role playing of therapy, and discussion of the therapy with the supervisor. Training was exactly the same for both groups except for supervision. A control group (N=8) did not receive any training. All subjects, including controls, were pre- and post-tested for counseling effectiveness as measured by judged tape ratings on the 25-item Counselor Effectiveness Scale and four scales designed to assess affective, exploratory, listening, and honest labeling responses. High complex subjects responsed more favorably to the didactic supervision significantly outperforming both the high complex controls and the low complex didactic subjects on four of the five dependent measures, whereas high and low complex subjects did not respond differentially to the experiential supervision. The results were discussed in terms of fitting the complexity of the students to the supervision approach in selecting students for counseling programs.
