Notes:
Abstract Bench scale flocculation tests were performed on a starch anaerobic digester effluent. The effluent contained 38% particles below 2.5 μm size and Zeta-potential measurements indicated a negative surface charge on the particles. Various polyacrylomide polymers were tested as flocculating agents. Batch settling tests were performed and a thickener was sized for obtaining an acceptable overflow.
