Summary The course of the hydrogenation of nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds (pyridine, quinoline, isoquinoline, 2-methylpyrrole) has been investigated by means of 1H NMR spectrometry under various conditions. The activation energy has been calculated from the relative abundance of aromatic and aliphatic protons in dependence on the temperature of hydrogenation. The contents of elementary hydrogen obtained from the samples by means of the 1H NMR method and the classical method of elemental analysis were in close agreement with a relative error below 8%.

Zusammenfassung Der Verlauf der Hydrierung von heterocyclischen Stickstoffverbindungen (Pyridin, Chinolin, Isochinolin, 2-Methylpyrrol) wurde mit Hilfe der 1H-NMR-Spektrometrie unter verschiedenen Bedingungen untersucht. Die Aktivierungsenergie wurde aus der relativen Häufigkeit der aromatischen und aliphatischen Protonen in Abhängigkeit von der Hydrierungstemperatur berechnet. Die durch 1H-NMR-Methode und durch klassische Elementar-analyse bestimmten Gehalte an elementarem Wasserstoff stimmten mit einem relativen Fehler von 8% überein.
