Notes: Summary The paper presents the morphological findings and clinical data of 4 patients with veno-occlusive disease of the liver developing after immunosuppressive therapy with azathioprine and prednisolone. The pathogenesis and a possible causal relationship of hepatic veno-occlusive disease with long term azathioprine therapy are discussed.

Notes: Summary The influence of previous cholecystectomy (CCE) on the 1,2-dimethylhydrazine (DMH)-induced colorectal tumorigenesis was examined in 497 female NMRI mice after 14, 20, 24, 28, 33, and 36 weeks of induction time. There were only minor differences between the cholecystectomized and the non-cholecystectomized animals with regard to the percentage of tumor-bearing animals, number of adenomas, and location of the tumors. Only after an induction time of 20 weeks, the operated group had significantly more carcinoma-bearing animals than the non-operated group (P〈0.01,χ 2-test). The implication of these results on known data of epidemiologic studies in human colorectal cancer are discussed.

Notes: Abstract The kinetics of isothermal and nonisothermal crystallization of polyamide-6 (PA6) containing titania was studied by means of DSC. It was found thatTiO 2 causes an acceleration in the crystallization of polyamide-6 and lowers the value of the Avrami exponent,n. The presence of TiO2 does not affect equilibrium melting pointT m 0 , glass temperatureT g, or surface free energiesσ e andσ of the basal and lateral surfaces.

Notes: Abstract Studies have been made on the structure of wool fibres treated with trichloroethylene (TRI) and tetrachloroethylene (PER) by means of differential thermal analysis (DTA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffractometry. The samples were treated with TRI at temperatures ranging from 40

Description / Table of Contents: Mittels IR- und DSC-Messungen wurde die Kristallisation der Komponenten von Polyethylen-Polypropylen-Mischungen verfolgt.
Notes: Using the IR and DSC techniques the crystallization of the components in polyethylene-polypropylene blends was investigated. The results were analyzed in terms of the Avrami equation. The analysis shows that the crystallization rate of PP depends on the PE content and on the temperature of crystallization. Above 122°C PE causes a decrease of the crystallization rate of PP, whereas below 122°C PE accelerates the crystallization of PP. In the ranges of PE content 0 to 50% and 80 to 100% PP causes an increase of the crystallization rate of PE, whereas in the range 50 to 80% PE decreases the rate of crystallization.
