Description / Table of Contents: Summary Experimental investigations in wistar rats indicate that cefsulodin, a new cephalosporin antibiotic with high activity againstPseudomonas aeruginosa, is more nephrotoxic than cephaloridine, the cephalosporin with the lowest renal tolerance up until now. Therefore, when cefsulodin is used clinically, renal function should be carefully controlled.

Notes: Zusammenfassung Experimentelle Untersuchungen an Wistarratten zeigen, daß das neue Antipseudomonas-Cephalosporin Cefsulodin eine höhere Nephrotoxizität besitzt als Cephaloridin, dem Cephalosporinantibiotikum, das bislang renal am wenigsten toleriert wurde. Cefsulodin sollte daher klinisch unter sorgsamer Kontrolle der Nierenfunktion eingesetzt werden.
