Conclusions 1. The Fe-C σ bond in σ-cymantrenyl(π-cyclopentadienyl)dicarbonyliron is more resistant to the action of mercury salts, iodine, and hydrochloric acid than those in the σ-phenyl and σ-ferrocenyl derivatives. 2. The reaction of the sodium salt of π-cyclopentadienyldicarbonyliron with cymantrenoyl chloride yielded the σ-cymantrenoyl derivative of π-cyclopentadienyldicarbonyliron. 3. The replacement of one CO group on the iron atom in the σ-cymantrenyl and σ-cymantrenoyl complexes of π-cyclopentadienyldicarbonyliron by triphenylphosphine has been effected. 4. Decarbonylation of the σ-cymantrenoyl derivatives C5H5(CO)LFe-COC5H4,Mn(CO)3 (L = CO and PPh3) to the corresponding σ-cymantrenyl derivatives C5H5(CO)LFe-C5H4,Mn(CO)3 has been carried out.
