Zusammenfassung Es wird eine Familie mit zwei Kindern beschrieben, einem Jungen und einem Mädchen, bei denen eine Trisomie des kurzen Armes des Chromosoms Nr. 10 vorliegt. Die Mutter und die Großmutter sind Träger der reziproken Translokation 46,XX,t(7;10) (p22; p11). Beide Kinder erhielten durch meiotische Segregation das gleiche Translokationschromosom Nr. 7, das fast den gesamten kurzen Arm des Chromosoms Nr. 10 aufweist. Die Kinder mit der 10p—Trisomie zeigen ein klinisches Bild, das gekennzeichnet ist durch eine schwere geistige und psychomotorische Retardierung, einen dysmorphen Schädel, eine besondere Form des Gesichtes und multiple Mißbildungen der Extremitäten.

Summary A family is described with two children, a boy and a girl, having a trisomy of the short arm of chromosome No. 10. The mother and the grandmother are carriers of the reciprocal translocation 46,XX,t(7;10) (p22; p11). Both children received through meiotic segregation the same translocation chromosome No. 7 which carries almost the total short arm of No. 10. The 10p—trisomic children show a clinical picture characterized by severe mental and psychomotoric retardation, dysmorphic skull, peculiarly shaped face, and multiple malformations of the extremities.
