Notes: Abstract The two measurements of the process γ+p→π0+p at the Bonn 500 MeV electron synchrotron are discussed and after correction of systematic deviations combined to one set of data. A comparison with other measurements and theoretical calculations is given.

Notes: Abstract Differential cross sections of the π0-photoproduction on protons were measured with the photon beam of the 500 MeV-synchrotron at Bonn University by means of a range telescope. Using this experimental set-up it was possible to obtain data between photon energies from 200 to 440 MeV and intervals of pion angles in the cm system from 50 ° to 140 °. In steps of 10 ° excitation curves were measured from ten to ten MeV photon energy. The resolution of the apparatus is characterized by a solid angle of 0.6 msterad and an energy width of about 10 MeV. Strong efforts were spent in evaluating the corrections and proving them by test runs; by this procedure it became possible to limit the systematical errors to values of 5% or lower with a statistical uncertainty of less than 3% in most cases. It was the aim of the experimental group to get a complete data set of differential cross sections over a large kinematical area around the first resonance with small errors in order to get the possibility for tests of theoretical models.

Notes: Abstract Differential cross sections of neutral pion photoproduction on hydrogen were measured in the region between the first and the second nucleon resonance at photon energies of 400–500 MeV and were compared with results of an energy-independent multipole analysis.

Notes: Abstract New measurements of the differential cross sections of the reactionγ+p→π 0+p which were described in Part I and II gave rise to a careful and critical comparison of their results with the data of earlier experiments, in particular with those carried out at Bonn. It was found that after some cuts and minor modifications applied to the older experiments the data of all experiments done at Bonn can be combined to one set. This set of data covers nearly the whole kinematical region from 220 up to 500 MeV. On the basis of this extended set of data a multipole analysis was done by theorists at Bonn. Due to the fact that cross sections at small angles had become available this analysis gave more reliable figures for some of the smaller multipole amplitudes, in particular for the electric dipole amplitudeE +.
