    Notes: SUMMARY– The collagen and elastin content was determined in different cuts of veal and beef. Increases in the amount of total connective tissue are primarily due to increased amounts of collagen, whereas the elastin content is relatively constant. More collagen was found in veal than in beef. The amount of collagen solubilized by heating in one-fourth strength Ringer's solution was twice as high for veal as for beef. Results indicate that the amount of connective tissue proteins in meat is dependent upon the anatomical location and the physiological function of the muscles. Results of chemical and histological analysis are discussed from the standpoint of their nutritional significance.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The suicide of a 24-year-old woman by means of electricity is reported. The suicide was committed with a standard lamp of brass (partly lacquered) in a bathing-tub. Polymorph marks of electricity on the skin of the chest and stomach as well as on both hands were found. The lacquered stem of the lamp showed, on the place of contact with the inner side of the right hand, heavy changes of the lacquer and punctiform circumscribed places of corrosion of the open region of brass with precipitation of products of oxidation of the metal. The findings are discussed in context. The same reaction of metal electrodes without a layer of lacquer after flowing of electricity through the skin is mentioned.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wird über den Stromselbstmord einer 24jährigen Frau berichtet. Die Tat wurde in einer Badewanne mit einer teilweise lackierten Messingstehlampe durchgeführt. Es fanden sich polymorphe Strommarken an Brust und Bauchhaut sowie an beiden Händen. Der lackierte Lampenschaft wies an der Kontaktstelle mit der rechten Handinnenfläche starke Veränderungen des Lackes und punktförmig umschriebene Korrosionsstellen der freigelegten Messingfläche mit Abscheidungen von Oxydationsprodukten des Metalls auf. Die Befunde werden im Zusammenhang diskutiert, auf das gleichartige Verhalten von Metallelektroden ohne Lackschicht nach elektrischer Durchströmung der Haut wird hingewiesen.

Ein zweiter Bruch lag an der Schädelbasis vor. Erörterung der Handlungsunfähigkeit bei Schädel-Hirn-Traumen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The report relates to several morphological possibilities of distinction in reference to electric and heat characteristics. Description of the colouring method with Kongo-red and Alcian-blue. Demark of colouring results and their forensic significance. Theoretical interpretation concerning structure and composition of current characteristics in reference to various forms of electrodes. Experimental tests revealed several difficulties in distinguishing heat marks after application of above colouringresults, when heat-marks had been put on the palm or sole of foot. In spite of the distinction marks which had been worked out contrary to thermic burns there is requirement of systematic, experimental confirmation. The own sectionscases did not reveal such difficulties, although referring to the result of experimental tests difficulties possibly can appear when skin with thick hornlayer is used for electric characteristics.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wird über weitere morphologische Unterscheidungsmöglichkeiten zwischen Strom- und Wärmemarken berichtet. Beschreibung der Färbemethode mit Kongorot und Alcianblau, Erörterung der Färbungsergebnisse und ihrer forensischen Bedeutung. Theoretische Erwägungen über den Aufbau und die Zusammensetzung der Strommarkennekrose bei verschiedenen Elektrodenformen. Bei experimentellen Untersuchungen ergaben sich nunmehr nach Anwendung der obigen Färbung Schwierigkeiten der Differenzierung gegen Wärmemarken, wenn die Strommarken an Handinnenfläche oder Fußsohle gesetzt wurden. Zwar wurden auch hierfür Unterscheidungsmerkmale gegenüber thermischen Verbrennungen erarbeitet, eine systematische experimentelle Bestätigung erscheint aber erforderlich. Bei den eigenen Sektionsfällen traten solche Schwierigkeiten nicht auf, nach dem Ergebnis der experimentellen Untersuchungen ist jedoch mit Schwierigkeiten bei Strommarken an Haut mit dicker Hornschicht zu rechnen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary By the silver-plate-method ofTimm streakshaped metallisations in the histologic picture of an incision are traceable. The specificity of those findings was proved. It turned out, that intercalations of metal in this manner or a similar one might be evoked as well by thermal axtion experimentally. The practice of this silver-plate-method cannot be recommended for an exact proof of an electric metallisation.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Mit der Versilberungsmethode nachTimm sind im histologischen Schnittbild von Strommarken schlierenförmige Metallisationen nachweisbar. Die Spezifität dieser Befunde wurde überprüft. Es ergab sich, daß Metalleinlagerungen dieser und ähnlicher Art auch durch thermische Einwirkung experimentell hervorgerufen werden können. Die Anwendung des Versilberungsverfahrens kann zum exakten Nachweis einer elektrischen Metallisation nicht empfohlen werden.
