Notes:
Summary Renin concentration was determined in peripheral venous blood and/or in the blood taken from both renal veins in 15 hypertensive patients using the method ofBrown et al. [3]. 14 of the patients had renal artery stenosis on one or both sides. One patient suffered from one sided pyelonephritic stone kidney. The values in peripheral venous blood were nearly all in normal limits, the values of the effected kidney were nearly all somewhat higher than that of the contralateral side. No correlation could be found between these values and postoperative blood pressure.
