Zusammenfassung Der Konturverstärkungseffekt der Xeroradiographie ermöglicht eine Arteriendarstellung mit sehr geringer Kontrastmittelkonzentration. Nach Injektion des KM in eineCubitalvene kommt 3–8 s später die A. brachialis, 7–15 s spater die A. femoralis zur Darstellung. Bei Vermeidung von Knochenüberlagerungen sind die Bilder von gleichem Aussagewert wie konventionelle Arteriographien. Die Untersuchungstechnik ist nicht invasiv, schmerzfrei und leicht wiederholbar. Sie gewinnt deshalb in der Gefäßchirurgie für die Diagnostik akuter Verschlüsse von Extremitätenarterien und für frühzeitige Kontrolle und Dokumentation von Operationsergebnissen zunehmend an Bedeutung.

Summary The edge contrast pattern in xeroradiography allows arteries to be delineated with a much reduced concentration of radiopaque fluid. The contrast material is injected into acubital vein. The brancial arteries are opacified for 3–8 s and the femoral arteries about 7–15 s after the injection. The quality of the arteriograms equals that of direct conventional angiography, if the vessels are not covered over by bone structures. Transvenous xeroarteriography is noninvasive, painless, easy to handle, and reproducible at short intervals without any risk. It is indicated for preoperative diagnosis, especially in high-risk patients, and for postoperative control and documentation of vascular reconstructions in the extremities.
