Notes: Abstract Analysis of nuclear processes in terms of cross-sections averaged over the many microscopic channels, as in the “poor resolution” experiments, corresponds to a macroscopic level of description. In this paper energy-averaged strength function is considered. In order to determine the frequency dependence of this quantity statistically averaged single-particle density is introduced for which equations are obtained analogous to random phase approximation.
